The liberation 79 years ago, 14 and 15 April 2024
On April 14th and 15th, 2024, our association took part, like every year, in the commemorations at the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp memorials. This year marked the 79th anniversary of their liberation, in April 1945.
The weather was good and many people came to take part in both events. Some survivors and their relatives also made the long journey to be there again. Due to the times, these contemporary witnesses are becoming fewer and fewer and therefore the memory and commemoration of them and their stories are becoming more and more important.
