Visit from Belgium and the USA

From 12 to 15 September, we accompanied a larger group of guests from Belgium and the USA.

Together we visited the 'REIMAHG' exhibition at the City Museum, the Buchenwald memorial, the Kamsdorf mine, the Leuchtenburg, Hummelshain Castle and many other historical sites in our region.

Alongside all the visits, there was of course plenty of time for personal conversations over good Thuringian cuisine, socializing with the exchange of experiences and family stories. Above all, during the historical background of the war years, we discovered many family similarities and new connections. It was a few special, emotional days for all of us.

Our American guests were members of the 2nd US Armored Division veterans' association. Here, in particular, the exchange about shared history and the perspective on different personal experiences made this visit something very special. 

We would like to warmly thank our guests from Belgium and the USA for the time together, the many interesting conversations and the lovely encounters. We hope these days will stay in our fond memories for a long time – and that it wasn’t our last meeting! ❤️
