A single grave has remained in the former cemetery in Gumperda.
Wrapped in ivy, it rested for years under old trees.
Our association has now taken over the sponsorship of care in consultation with the responsible authorities. Before the 80th anniversary of the liberation, it was cleared of overgrown vegetation by members of the association, cleared, fresh earth was heaped up and replanted. The inscription on the gravestone was almost unrecognizably weathered.
Cleaned and restored, it tells the viewer the story of this gravesite.
